Welcome!
We are B-1 BUILDERS INC.,
a general contracting company based in North Whatcom County,
specializing in large and small scale framing projects for homeowners
and builders, with forays into remodeling (which is how we got our
start), additions, decks, speculation building, siding and steel
construction.
 My
name is Reid Patterson. My wife, Corrine and I married right out of
high school in 1975 and within a year had purchased a wreck of a home,
remodeled it, bought another, remodeled it and so on. But, it wasn't
until the mid-90s that we chose to turn our hobby into our vocation.
We dove headlong into the world of construction. I was a superintendent
for a mid-sized contractor in Utah when we elected to move, sight
unseen, to beautiful Bellingham, Washington in 1997 with a relocating
construction company. Within a year, we launched B-1 BUILDERS INC. (we aim to "be one" with your building needs) and have been busy ever since.
Through
the years, the majority of our work has come via word of mouth. This is
due, we believe, to our insistence that each of our employees and/or
subs maintain the exacting standards of excellence and perfection that
we demand of ourselves.
Our
philosophy is this: We are building someone's home, where there will be
memories, meals, laughter, and love shared. How can anything less than
our best be given? To us, it is a great honor.
As
we've grown and delved into larger commercial projects, we've always
kept that same sense of excitement and purpose... to construct and
build that which will house the hopes and dreams of its designers and
occupants.
